Bachelor of Arts in Theology

Evangelical School of Theology (EST) in Poland is the only non-public, interdenominational, theological school accredited by the Polish Ministry of Higher Education and Science. EST offers a B.A. program of theology studies, which prepares students to work in churches and Christian organizations as well as for further study in Poland and abroad. Students are equipped with knowledge, tools and skills, which will help them to adapt and apply the Gospel message to dynamically changing realities in Poland in the 21st century.

This B.A. program is primarily aimed at men and women who are interested in gaining solid theological knowledge and practical skills useful for ministry in churches, fellowships and Christian organizations. The program lasts for eight semesters and includes 30 courses plus 150 hours of internship (student ministry practicum). It usually takes a student four years of 10 weekends per academic year to complete his/her studies. Students often share that what they are learning in their studies is useful in their ministries.

The courses offered include: Introduction to New Testament, Introduction to Old Testament, Exegesis of Scripture, Introduction to Evangelical Theology, Church History, History of Philosophy, Theology of New Testaments, Moral Theology, Biblical Studies, Dogmatics, Greek, Hebrew, English, Information Technology, Pastoral Ministry, Preparation for Writing B.A. Thesis, History of Dogma, and elective courses. The B.A. courses allow students to understand theological reality, both in the historical and contemporary perspectives. Internships in specific ministries under the supervision of experienced tutors help to change academic knowledge into everyday life. In this way the B.A. program contains spheres of academic, spiritual development and pragmatic usefulness.

Graduates often pursue additional studies/programs and obtain a B.A., M.A. and/or PhD in other disciplines, i.e. pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, education, economics, etc. This enables them to serve not only their churches and fellowships but also in the marketplace and have an impact on Polish society.
