For the past several years, Evangelical School of Theology has participated in the Week of Prayer for the Unity of Christians in Wroclaw with various denominations (Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, and others). EST is taking a leading or co-leading role in the group of various churches organizing the Week of Prayer in this region. This year prior to the event at EST (on the 21st), the school arranged for a debate on a local radio station about the upcoming speakers and topic. EST hosted a unique event entitled, “Where is your brother? Concern for man in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam”. The speakers were the rector of EST, Lutheran bishop in Wroclaw, rabbi for the Jewish community and imam for the Muslim community. The meeting at EST was well attended and the speakers lectured, debated, told jokes and sang Christian, Jewish and Muslim songs and at the end the Bishop blessed all of us.
This year the Week of Prayer was a special one for us at EST. It was time to say goodbye to Lutheran Bishop Bogusz who is retiring. At the end of the event we thanked the Bishop for many years of friendship and cooperation and for being a good friend for us almost since 1990, the beginning of what was then Biblical Theological Seminary.
