Meeting with Pastor Dr. Piotr Gąsiorowski

On September 18, 2015, the EST Open Days event was part of the Lower Silesian Science Festival. This festival is annually organized by the universities in Wroclaw, institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and non-academic institutions.

The festival is available for anyone interested in science, technology, culture and art. This year EST organized an evening with speaker, Rev. Dr. Piotr Gasiorowski, a pastor of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Krakow, director of the Institute of Leadership, national coordinator of EQUIP (John C. Maxwell), chairman of the Association of Global Leadership Summit, a member of the international alliance – Arrow Leadership Program, and a lecturer in the School of Young Leaders.

During the event at EST, Dr. Gasiorowski spoke about his experiences and the book he wrote, Wybaczyc Bogu (To Forgive God), presenting his testimony and how he dealt with the death of his wife in a car accident. He also touched on the problem of suffering in life and the crisis of faith of the believer. His message focused in a touching way on major questions like “Why do bad things happen to good people?”, “Where was this good God when bad things happened?”, “Why does God allow tragedy and suffering?” After this tragic event, he had to cross the road to reconciliation and trust in God. He shared that at the end of this road we become aware that you do not really need to forgive God, but rather ourselves and others. We trust in God again, open up to him and accept His love and grace.
